Nativity Success!

Well done to all in the Nativity, from the actors and  narrators and to those children who helped out moving scenery, benches and chairs! You were FAB! So a big thanks for all your hard work

More science fun!

The great thing about science is that we experience it all the time without sometimes even noticing!  Our science topic has been materials and what better way to learn about how materials can change than by baking! You learn a great deal and you get to eat some fab biscuits too! Hoorah

We made 123 biscuits, creaming butter and sugar together, rubbing in flour and then rolling it out to the correct consistency before cutting with seasonal shaped cutters. It wasn’t as easy as it sounds, getting the butter to combine with the sugar took some muscle power and rolling out the dough to 1 cm thick was great for estimation skills. The biscuits tasted lovely and I was very proud of my little cooks!

Really Wild Roadshow

We’ve been lucky enough – thanks to the generosity of Mrs Bown- to have experience some very unusual animals last week.

The wild roadshow came to our school and each class had the opportunity to learn about and hold a variety of different beasts. The children really enjoyed themselves and learned an awful lot so a great big thanks to Mrs Bown

How fast the time is flying!

Well we’ve been looking at time this week in numeracy and when you think how long it is now until the holidays the time really has seemed to fly by.

This week has been very busy! We’ve been baking, making hats for our party in 2 weeks time, and tomorrow we get to enjoy The Really Wild Show a wonderful treat from Mrs Bown where the children will get to meet allsorts of interesting creatures.

The nativity is progressing nicely and we’ll be practising with the staging this week, only 2 more rehearsals til the show! Well done to all of year 2 who are taking part, lines and songs have been learned, movements remembered, phew! Hard work but worth it!
